Microchipping

There for when you need it.

A microchip is a permanent method of electronic identification.

The chip itself is very small – about the size of a grain of rice – and is simply implanted subcutaneously (just under the skin) between the shoulder blades at the back of your pet's neck.

Each chip has a unique number that is entered into an online database that stores important information such as your name, address and telephone number and can be detected using a microchip scanner.

If your pet ever goes missing, a vet clinic or local shelter is able to find your contact details using a microchip scanner and can then contact you to let you know your pet has been found.

If you’re unsure whether your pet is microchipped, we can arrange a scan and let you know how to update your details so they are correct on the database.

Microchipping can be done during a consultation, vaccination or medical procedure.
